HistoryMid 1990Catholics in the Market Place (CIMP), started with rosary sessions. Holy Hour introduced in 1991 followed by Masses being celebrated. At the same time, Catholics in the Central Business District (CBD) in Shenton Way started their first Mass in a storeroom of an insurance company. 1993 Catholics in the CBD celebrated Mass at the old SIA building and subsequently relocated to the Singapore Conference Hall. Because of the irregularity of finding venues for Masses, the groups - CIMP; Catholics in the CBD and Catholics in Raffles Place came together to form the Catholic Prayer Society. 1994 The Senate approves the Catholic Prayer Society (CPS) as a private juridical person. An application was lodged with the Registry of Society. 1995 In August, Catholic Prayer Society was officially formed as a society.
